The richest Cohiba to date. With a dark maduro wrapper and aged Dominican Piloto binder, Cohiba Black offers a rich and complex flavor that appeals to even the most discerning aficionado.
As perhaps the most recognized name in cigars worldwide, Cohiba has been an icon for what many consider to be “the best.” Debuting in Cuba shortly after Castro came to power, Cohiba cigars were made from the country's top 1% of leaves harvested and the cigars were reserved for diplomatic gifts and government VIPs. In fact, speculation exists that the brand was initially made for Fidel Castro himself, who considered the blend his favorite.
Cohiba Black was introduced at the 2006 RTDA show in Las Vegas. As one of the most popular super premiums, Cohiba Black follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, Cohiba Red Dot, which is also made in the Dominican Republic. The cigar features a multi-country blend with a rich and dark Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. However, perhaps more exciting than the oily wrapper is the filler, which encompasses leaves from the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Cohiba Black is then finished with an enticing Dominican Piloto binder that has been aging for more than three years in tercio. Don't miss your chance to try on of Cohiba's finest creations.
Cohiba Black is my new favorite cigar. Yes, it's pricy, but worth it as my weekend indulgence. The Churchill felt good in my hand, well constructed. One inch in, the flavor and richness was apparent . Rich chocolate and mellow coffee with a note of sweetness plus just a hint of spice carried me on my journey to the nub. A hugely enjoyable smoke.

Well worth the price. What I like best is the consistency of these cigars. Always a good burn--always a good taste--always a good draw.
Anyone who knows me knows I love my coffee and chocolate so when I had my first Cohiba Black, I was floored. Rolled by Cohiba’s best torcedors, the Black features a potent blend of Dominican and Mexican fillers encased in a beautiful Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. I experienced wonderful cocoa, espresso, and cedar flavors with a nice hint of spice to the palate.
There are a lot of great Broadleaf-wrapped cigars out there but how can I resist a Cohiba? The storied Cuban brand is a full-blown legend and Cohiba Black proves it. Comprised of luscious, well-aged tobaccos, Cohiba Black is finished with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf that is ripe with notes of dark, chocolate, espresso, and cashews.
